Our preschool provides care and learning for children 3 to 4 years old and prepares them for our Pre-K program. In this age group children are learning how to become part of a group and follow routines. Children are introduced to early academics such as colors, shapes, numbers, recognizing and writing their name, letter sounds, tracing, lacing, cutting and putting puzzles together. In addition children are strengthening their gross motor skills through activities such as hopping on one foot, learning coordination through jumping jacks or playing on our outdoor play equipment.
Our program allows us to develop their curiosity and imagination through a variety of methods such as play, small group activities, themed centers and enrichment activities such as yoga, dance, music, art and spanish. Also, during this age children are starting to strengthen their socials skills and start to form friendships as well as form their own sense of independence. Children are given a variety of activities to develop their social skills such as dramatic play, cooperative learning as well as teaching them how to be good listeners, take turns and share with their peers. Our schedule allows children the opportunity to make choices throughout the day and develop their sense of independence. They also work on their self-help skills such as going to the toilet independently and cleaning up their toys in addition to following directions. In the afternoon the children are given an opportunity to rest or nap where they will be able to unwind and recharge for the remaining day. Lastly our classrooms are equipped with security cameras to ensure your child’s safety.
